[ Act No. 333, January 24, 1902 ]

AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS, UNITED STATES CURRENCY, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING SURVEYS OF THE HARBOR OF ILOILO AND OF THE CAGAYAN RIVER, AND OF SUBMITTING PLANS AND ESTIMATES FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE SAME.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. Whereas the harbor of Iloilo is now in need of immediate improvement by reason of the filling up of the channel, and the sinking of several barges therein, the sum of five thousand dollars, United States currency, is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended under the direction of the Chief Engineer, Division of the Philippines, for the purpose of making surveys of the harbor and of submitting plans and estimates for the improvement thereof.

Section 2. The sum of three thousand dollars, United States currency, is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended under the direction of the Chief Engineer, Division of the Philippines, for the purpose of making a survey of the Cagayan River in the Island of Luzon, and of submitting an estimate and project for the improvement of the same from Camalaniugan to deep water at its month.1aшphi1

Section 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
