AN ACT APPROPRIATING THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-TWO DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS, IN MONEY OF THE UNITED STATES, TO BE PAID TO THE QUAR-MASTER OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY PRISON AT BACOLOR, AND AMENDING ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. The sum of three thousand six hundred and eighty-two dollars and fifty cents, in money of the United States, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be paid to the quartermaster of the United States military prison at Bacolor for the following purposes: For the payment of ration supplies for the native convicts at the United States military prison at Bacolor for the months of April, May, and June, nineteen hundred and one, three thousand four hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents, and for salaries as follows: One clerk, Glass A, and one capataz at twenty-five dollars per month, for the months of May and June, two hundred dollars; one scout interpreter for the month of June, nineteen hundred and one, thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents; for additional amount required to pay the police at Guagua and Bacolor for the second quarter of the year nineteen hundred and one, thirty-two dollars and fifty cents.

Section 2. Act Numbered One hundred and forty-three, enacted June twenty-first, nineteen hundred and one, is hereby amended by striking out the appropriation for the office of the Chief Statistician and inserting in lieu thereof the following words:

"Office of the Chief Statistician:

"For allowance in lieu of salary for the Chief Statistician for earned leave of absence and in lieu of traveling expenses for the Chief Statistician to San Francisco, three hundred and twenty-one dollars and fifty-seven cents."

Section 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this appropriation bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.1aшphi1
