[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1389, August 11, 2026 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, 11 SEPTEMBER 2026, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION

WHEREAS, on 13 September 1986, former President Corazon C. Aquino met with the representatives of the Cordillera Bodong Administration and the Cordillera People's Liberation Army to signify the Sipat (cessation of hostilities) and to acknowledge their aspirations for Cordillera autonomy;

WHEREAS, the Cordillera Administrative Region will mark the celebration of the Sipat Anniversary on 13 September 2026, which falls on a Sunday;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the Cordillera Administrative Region to fully participate in the occasion, the Office of the Regional Development Council-Cordillera Administrative Region (RDC-CAR) and Office of the Governor of Apayao requested that 11 September 2026, Friday, be declared as a special (non-working) day in lieu of 13 September 2026;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Cordillera Administrative Region be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RALPH G. RECTO, Acting Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Friday, 11 September 2026, a special (non-working) day in the Cordillera Administrative Region.ℒαwρhi৷
