DECLARING TUESDAY, APRIL 27, 2010 AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF LAPU-LAPU

WHEREAS, Tuesday, April 27, 2010, marks the 489th anniversary of the Battle of Mactan, which has been described now as the KADAUGAN SA MACTAN”, a cultural and historical event for the City of Lapu-Lapu;

WHEREAS, the Battle of Mactan is among the significant events in Philippine history and serves as testimony to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Filipinos; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the residents of the City of Lapu-Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.ℒαwρhi৷

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LEANDRO R. MENDOZA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Tuesday, April 27, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the City of Lapu-Lapu.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
