DECLARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2010, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SAMAR

WHEREAS, Spain declared Samar as a province independent of Leyte and Cebu on August 11, 1841, which occasion is now celebrated in the Province of Samar as “Samar Day”;

WHEREAS, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 , marks the Samar Day anniversary of the Province of Samar;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Samar be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.ℒαwρhi৷

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Wednesday, August 11, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Samar.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
