DECLARING THURSDAY, AUGUST 5, 2010, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE WHOLE SAMAR ISLAND

WHEREAS, Thursday, August 5, 2010 , marks the 120 th birth anniversary of the late Jose Avelino;

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino, former Senate President and was known as the “Father of the Philippine Workmen’s Compensation Law”;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the whole Samar Island be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.ℒαwρhi৷

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Thursday, August 5, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the whole Samar Island.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
