[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1666, November 17, 2008 ]

DECLARING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOCOS SUR

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 1927 dated November 15, 1979, declared November 16 of every year as special public holiday in the Province of Ilocos Sur to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late President Elpidio Quirino;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the Province of Ilocos Sur to celebrate the occasion, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan requested that Monday, November 17, 2008 be declared as special (non-working) day instead of November 16, 2008, which falls on a Sunday;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Ilocos Sur, be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.ℒαwρhi৷

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, November 17, 2008, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Ilocos Sur.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
