DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 23 TO 29, 2007 AS "HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT WEEK"

WHEREAS, the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) will hold its 44th Annual Conference on September 26 to 28, 2007 at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City, with the theme "People Deliver! Linking People and Results";

WHEREAS, the conference will show leaders inspire people to deliver and face the challenge to link people and results;

WHEREAS, the conference aims to generate mindset or urgency and collective action by presenting models and success stories from the different sectors of society;

WHEREAS, there is a need to recognize the commitment of the Human Resource Management practitioners to the development and promotion of the country's human resource; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the significance of Human Resource Management (HRM) in attaining the highest potential of Filipinos as managers, as workers, and as empowered and technology-proficient citizens of a new country of economic growth and social progress.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from September 23 to 29, 2007, as "Human Resource Management Week" under the auspices of the Personnel Management Association or the Philippines.
