DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2007 AS “PRESIDENT RAMON F. MAGSAYSAY DAY” IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBALES

WHEREAS, Friday, August 31, 2007, marks the centennial birth anniversary of former President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ramon F. Magsaysay;

WHEREAS, Ramon F. Magsaysay rendered Invaluable service to our country and to the Filipino people as Third President of the Republic of the Philippines, Secretary of Defense (1950), Representative of Zambales (1946-1949), and Guerilla Leader, and later, appointed Military Governor of Zambales Province during World War II, among others;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper to honor and emulate the exemplary leadership and dedication to public service by former President Magsaysay and to give the people of Zambales full opportunity to commemorate the day with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby declare Friday, August 31, 2007 as “President Ramon F. Magsaysay Day” in the Province of Zambales.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
