[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1171, November 13, 2006 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 13 TO 20, 2006 AS NATIONAL DANCE SPORT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc. (DSCPI) is the national sport association duly accredited by the International Olympic Committee;

WHEREAS, the DSCPI in its desire to promote and further develop dance sport in the country, is staging the 2006 DSCPI National Ranking & Competition on November 18, 2006 and the 2nd Manila International Dance Sport Federation (IDSF) Open Latin & Standard Competition on November 19, 2006, both at the Multi-Purpose Arena, Philsports Complex, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City; and

WHEREAS, the holding of these two (2) events will gather dance sport champions and competitors all over the country.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 13 to 20, 2006 as "National Dance Sport Week".ℒαwρhi৷
