DECLARING SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2006, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY

WHEREAS, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with the theme: “NAGKAISA, NAGDASAL, MAGTAGUMPAY”;

WHEREAS, the historic event restored and ushered meaningful political, social and economic reforms in the country which serve as an inspiration as we continue to chart our collective course as a nation and a people;

WHEREAS, it is fitting that all sectors should be given the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in our country’s history through simple yet meaningful activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby declare Saturday, February 25, 2006 as a special (non-working) day.ℒαwρhi৷
