DECLARING RASA ISLAND LOCATED IN BARANGAY PANACAN, MUNICIPALITY OF NARRA, PROVINCE OF PALAWAN AS PROTECTED AREA PURSUANT TO RA 7586 OR THE NIPAS ACT OF 1992 AND SHALL BE KNOWN AS RASA ISLAND WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines do hereby set aside and declare Rasa Island located in Barangay Panacan, Municipality of Narra, Province of Palawan as Protected Area and shall be known as Rasa Island Wildlife Sanctuary subject to private rights, and without prejudice to the rights of indigenous peoples as provided for in RA 8371, DENR Administrative Order No. 93-02 and other related rules and regulations, if any there be, as described in DENR NIPAS Map No. R-4B-8.

The Rasa Island Wildlife Sanctuary shall be under the administrative jurisdiction of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and shall be managed in accordance with the provisions of the NIPAS Act.
All contracts permits or licenses for the extraction or utilization of natural resources already existing prior to this Proclamation shall, subject to national interest, be respected until their expiration.
