[ PROCLAMATION NO. 727, November 11, 2004 ]

DECLARING NOVEMBER 30, 2004, TUESDAY, AS A WORKING DAY, AND AUTHORIZING NOVEMBER 29, 2004, MONDAY, AS A NON-WORKING HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

WHEREAS, the observance of Bonifacio Day as a holiday this year (November 30, 2004) should fall on a Tuesday pursuant to Executive Order No 292 (1987), as amended by Republic Act No. 9177 (2002);

WHEREAS, in order to spur domestic tourism and enable our countrymen to avail of the benefits of a longer weekend, November 29, 2004, Monday, may instead be declared as a non-working holiday this year, provided that all activities and celebrations in observance of "Bonifacio Day" shall remain to be observed on November 30, 2004, Tuesday.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, by order of Her Excellency GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby declare the following:

Section 1. November 30, 2004, Tuesday, shall be a working day, while November 29, 2004, Monday, shall be a non-working holiday throughout the country.ℒαwρhi৷

All activities and celebrations in observance of "Bonifacio Day" shall remain to be observed on November 30, 2004, Tuesday.

Section 2. The Secretary of Labor and Employment shall issue the appropriate circular to implement the proclamation for the private sector.

Section 3. This Proclamation shall take effect immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 11th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Four.
