DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2003, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE

WHEREAS, September 13 of every year has been declared as special non-working holiday through Republic Act No. 6702 to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle at Pulang Lupa in the Province of Marinduque;

WHEREAS, September 13, 2003, this year's 103rd anniversary, falls on a Saturday;

WHEREAS, Friday, September 12, 2003, is the day during which the activities pertaining to the event will be held; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the people of the Province of Marinduque be given full opportunity to celebrate with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALBERTO G. ROMULO, Executive Secretary, by order of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Friday, September 12, 2003, as a special (non-working) day in the Province of Marinduque.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
