DECLARING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS "NATIONAL ANTI-VIDEO PIRACY MONTH"

WHEREAS, the Videogram Regulatory Board (VRB) was established to regulate the video industry in the country;

WHEREAS, the rampant and indiscriminate piracy of videograms has greatly affected the movie industry;

WHEREAS, video piracy has also resulted in the loss of much-needed revenue for the government estimated at no less than PI Billion per year;

WHEREAS, video piracy may be more effectively addressed with the full support and cooperation of the public; and

WHEREAS, it is essential to elevate awareness of the public regarding video piracy and its adverse effects in the entire economy.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of October of every year as "National Anti-Video Piracy Month".

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
