DECLARING AUGUST 21, 2003 A DAY OF NATIONAL REMEMBERING IN OBSERVANCE OF THE 20™ DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF SENATOR BENIGNO S. AQUINO, JR.

WHEREAS, the death of Benigno S. Aquino, Jr., former Senator of the Philippines, is a great loss to our people and has caused deep sorrow among them.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare August 21, 2003 a day of national remembering in observance of the 20th Death Anniversary of Senator Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. During this day, flags of all government buildings and installations throughout the country shall be flown at half-mast. All Filipinos are enjoined to similarly lower the flag to half-mast at their places of work and residence.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
