RENAMING THE FIDEL V. RAMOS ROOM

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2 dated May 6, 1998 by the National Historical Institute and Presidential Decree 260 dated August 1, 1973, declared Malacaņang Palace a National Historical Landmark;

WHEREAS, every past administration in the country reflects a particular period in our nation's rich history; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Malacaņang Palace, residence and office of the President of the Philippines should recognize the historic connection past presidents have with Malacaņang Palace.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby rename the Music Conference Room, Malacaņang Palace, and shall henceforth be known as the Ramos Room, in recognition of the historic value of the room in which President Fidel V. Ramos held office from 1992 to 1998, thereby serving as a tangible reminder of President Fidel V. Ramos' administration.
