DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER 1997 AS PHILIPPINE PAINT INDUSTRY WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine Paint Industry (PPI) which is composed of more than 70 manufacturers and suppliers, employs the services of thousands of Filipinos and plays a major role in our rapidly expanding economy;

WHEREAS, as an aggrupation of industrialist, manufacturing entities and suppliers, the PPI is an integral part of the nations efforts towards industrialization and economic development;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Paint Industry (PPI) wishes to mark its milestones, as well as celebrate its role in the national economic life, with fitting activities and ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim the first week of October 1997, as “Philippine Paint Industry Week” to mark the continuing achievements of the Industry and its role in national development. The Philippine Association of Paint Manufacturers, Inc., (PAPM) is hereby tasked to take the lead in conducting appropriate activities in celebrating this milestone in the Industrys history.1aшphi1
