MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1056, August 1, 1997 ] DECLARING AUGUST 15, 1997 AS SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BOCAUE, BULACAN WHEREAS, August 15, 1997 marks the 32nd death anniversary of the late Congressman Erasmo R. Cruz of Bocaue, Bulacan, a noted educator, lawyer, administrator and lawmaker who served in the Philippine Legislature from 1949 to 1957; WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to honor the leadership of Congressman Erasmo R. Cruz who remains an inspiration and source of pride among Bulakeños having been a nationalist legislator and outstanding Congressman during his two terms in the Philippine Congress; and, WHEREAS, the residents of Bocaue, Bulacan should be given full opportunity to celebrate this event with fitting ceremonies. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27 of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, August 15, 1997 as a Special Day for the Municipality of Bocaue, Bulacan. The Municipal Government of Bocaue, Bulacan is likewise designated to take charge of the celebration and to undertake activities which shall highlight the life and achievements of Congressman Cruz to instill patriotism among the Bulakeños.
