DECLARING JUNE 1994 AS PHILIPPINE ROTARY MONTH

WHEREAS, June marks the beginning of the 75th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Manila, the first and largest Rotary Club in Asia, established in 1919, and since then Rotary has expanded throughout the Philippines and in Asia;

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Manila, during its 75 years of existence, has embarked on many community-oriented projects, which have left their imprint on our society and have touched the lives of thousands among our poor and disadvantaged;

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Manila counts among its members men of great distinction and prominence in the government and private sectors, who are united in fellowship and dedicated to service;

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Manila continues to serve our country in its long tradition of “Service Above Self”;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 1994 as “Philippine Rotary Month”.
