BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Proclamation No. 300, November 28, 1993 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 6 TO 10, 1994, AS THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL DRINKING WATER WEEK

WHEREAS, the government has a multi pronged system for the delivery of drinking water through its instrumentalities, such as the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS, THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, THE METROPOLITAN WATERWORKS AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM, THE LOCAL WATER UTILITIES ADMINISTRATION AND WATER DISTRICT ALL OVER THE COUNTRY;

WHEREAS, in this undertaking, Non-Government Association, like the PHILIPPINE WATERWORKS ASSOCIATION (PWWA) and the PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF WATER DISTRICTS (PAWD), are likewise actively assisting and participating in the water supply development;

WHEREAS, the PWWA and its international mother organization, the International Water Supply Association (IWSA), will hold a biennial regional conference and exhibition to discuss advances, break-throughs and accomplishments of the water industry;

WHEREAS, from the 6th to 10th of November 1994, the ASPAC-IWSA regional conference and exhibition will be held in Manila;

WHEREAS, on this occasion, it is but fitting to highlight the Philippines accomplishments and achievements in providing safe and adequate water supply to the Filipino people and recognize the joint efforts of the government and private sector towards this endeavor;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 6 to 10, 1994, as “Philippine National Drinking Water Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Waterworks Association, Inc.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.ℒαwρhi৷
