[ Proclamation No. 235, August 20, 1993 ]

DECLARING MONDAY AUGUST 30, 1993, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE SECOND LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT OF AGUSAN DEL NORTE AND THE FIRST LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT OF CAPIZ

WHEREAS, the House of Representatives in its Resolution No. 36, certified to the existence of vacancies in the House of Representatives, particularly in the Second District of the Province of Agusan del Norte and in the First District of the Province of Capiz and calling for a special elections to fill said vacancies;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections in its Resolution No. 2606, dated July 29, 1993, scheduled the special elections in the Second Legislative District of Agusan del Norte and the First Legislative District of Capiz on August 30, 1993;

WHEREAS, the people of the Second Legislative District of Agusan del Norte and the First Legislative District of Capiz should be given full opportunity to exercise their right of suffrage;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Monday, August 30, 1993, as a special day in the Second Legislative District of Agusan del Norte and the First Legislative District of Capiz.ℒαwρhi৷
