[ Proclamation No. 222, August 3, 1993 ]

DECLARING THE APPROVAL AND ADOPTION OF THE

PHILIPPINE STATISTICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR 1993-1998

WHEREAS, the improvement of government statistical services in one of the development strategies under the Medium-Term Philippine Development Plan;

WHEREAS, to implement this development strategy, the National Statistical Coordination Board has formulated the 1993-1998 Philippine Statistical Development Program in consultation with various producers and users of statistics; and

WHEREAS, there is a need for concerted and coordinated effort to support the effective implementation of the Philippine Statistical Development Program.

Pursuant to this Proclamation:

1. The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) shall, as lead agency, coordinate and monitor the implementation, periodic assessment and updating of the Philippine Statistical Development Program.

2. The Department of Budget and Management shall include a budgetary provision for the Philippine Statistical System in the annual appropriations, supportive of the implementation of the Program.ℒαwρhi৷

3. All government agencies shall extend their full support and assistance for the effective implementation of the Program.

4. The private sector is encouraged to lend support to the successful implementation of the Program by participating in the various statistical activities which requires its contribution and assistance.

This Proclamation shall take effect immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 3rd day of August in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-three.
