[ Proclamation No. 195, June 21, 1993 ]

DECLARING JUNE 24, 1993 AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF MANILA

WHEREAS, every year the City of Manila celebrates June 24 in commemoration of the founding of the City as the premier Christian City of Asia;

WHEREAS, the residents of Manila, conscious of the historical and cultural significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies;

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 2420 dated May 21, 1985 declaring June 24, 1985 and every year thereafter as a Special Non-Working Public Holiday in the City of Manila was issued prior to the issuance of Executive Order No. 292, otherwise known as the Administrative Code of 1987;

WHEREAS, Section 26(2), Chapter 7, Book I of the Administrative Code of 1987 now refers to a “special holiday” as “special day”; and

WHEREAS, Section 27, Chapter 7; Book I of the Administrative Codes of 1987 authorizes the President to proclaim a local special day for a particular date, group or place.ℒαwρhi৷

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 24, 1993 as a Special Day in the City of Manila

This supersedes Proclamation No 2420 dated May 985
