DECLARING JUNE 26 AS “BATANES DAY” A SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BATANES

WHEREAS, June 26, 1993 is a special event for the people of Batanes as it marks the 210th year of the formal establishment of the Mission in Batanes, Philippines Islands;

WHEREAS, the people of the Province of Batanes, conscious of the historic significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies and to honor distinguished Ivatans.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 26, 1993 and every year thereafter as “Batanes Day”, a special non-working holiday in the Province of Batanes.ℒαwρhi৷
