[ Proclamation No. 158, March 29, 1993 ]

DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE CITY OF SAN PABLO AND THE MUNICIPALITIES OF NAGCARLAN AND RIZAL, BOTH IN THE PROVINCE OF LAGUNA

WHEREAS, six (6) lakes in the Province of Laguna were severely affected by mysterious death of fish;

WHEREAS, these lakes are being used for the raising of tilapia and other fresh water fish by approximately 2,500 fish farming-families, which has resulted in the lakes now unable to support any further fish-farming;

WHEREAS, the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends the declaration in the City of San Pablo and in the Municipalities of Nagcarlan and Rizal, both in the Province of Laguna;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the existence of a state of calamity in the City of San Pablo and in the Municipalities of Nagcarlan and Rizal in the Province of Laguna.ℒαwρhi৷
