[ Proclamation No. 152, March 19, 1993 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 13 TO 20 OF EVERY WEEK AS QUEDAN AGRI-CREDIT WEEK

WHEREAS, it is the declared policy of the State to promote the flow of investments and credit resources into the countryside so as to trigger the vigorous growth and development of rural productivity, employment and enterprises thereby generating more livelihood and income opportunities for the disadvantaged rural populace;

WHEREAS, April 13 marks the anniversary of the Quedan and Rural Credit Guarantee Corporation which is the primary government instrumentality that is working for the increased access to credit of farmers, fishermen, agricultural workers and other rural folks;

WHEREAS, it is imperative that national attention be directed to the provision of adequate credit to sustain the productive endeavors of rural Filipinos;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from April 13 to 20 of every year as QUEDAN AGRI-CREDIT WEEK.
