[ Proclamation No. 150, March 15, 1993 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 15 TO 21, 1993, AS ROTARY WEEK

WHEREAS, District 3810 of Rotary International will hold its 1993 District Conference (DISCON 93) at Shangri-Las EDSA Plaza Hotel, Mandaluyong, Manila, hosted by the Rotary Club of Makati Central;

WHEREAS, the Conference will be participated in by some 3,000 Rotarians and Rotary Anns who are prominent business and professional leaders in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, this special event affords an opportunity for Rotarians to renew their commitment to SERVICE, and to plan and discuss future projects in coordination with the government and other non-governmental organizations in a common effort to attain their goals for nation-building;

WHEREAS, it is desirable to set aside a period to accord special attention to the various programs and projects of Rotary for the poor and the disabled on health, peace and order, and ecology, as well as Rotarys beautification and greening projects, the ambitious Polio eradication program, and the relief and continuing assistance to the victims of the Mount Pinatubo eruption;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 15 to 21, 1993 as Rotary Week.ℒαwρhi৷
