[ Proclamation No. 148, March 8, 1993 ]

DECLARING MARCH 9, 1993, AS LAUREL DAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

WHEREAS, March 9, 1993, marks the 102nd birth anniversary of the late Jose P. Laurel, eminent, jurist, legislator, administrator, writer, lawyer, educator and statesman;

WHEREAS, Jose P. Laurel dedicated service to the three branches of our government has left a tangible imprints of human values deserved to be emulated;

WHEREAS, Jose P. Laurel as president of the country during the War years inspired the Filipino people the importance of nationalism;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare March 9, 1993, as Laurel Day throughout the country. The day shall be a regular working and school day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.ℒαwρhi৷
