DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES OF DAVAO ORIENTAL AND SURIGAO DEL SUR

I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare, upon the recommendation of the Chairman, National Disaster Coordinating Council, a state of public calamity in the Provinces of Davao Oriental and Surigao del Sur, which have been severely affected by torrential rains and heavy flooding. I also hereby authorize the release of Two Million Pesos (P2,000,000) in calamity funds to each of the Provinces of Davao Oriental and Surigao del Sur to support the on-going disaster operations being undertaken by the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Councils.
