DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF MALITA, DON MARCELINO, AND JOSE ABAD SANTOS, ALL OF DAVAO DEL SUR

WHEREAS, continuous heavy rains on January 9, 1993, flooded and overflowed the river banks affecting seventeen (17) barangays and eight hundred sixty-eight (868) families in the Municipalities of Malita, San Marcelino, and Jose Abad Santos, all of Davao del Sur;

WHEREAS, to facilitate the normalization of conditions in the flood-stricken areas, the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends the declaration of a state of calamity in the Municipalities of Malita, San Marcelino, and Jose Abad Santos, all of Davao del Sur;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the existence of a state of calamity in the Municipalities of Malita, San Marcelino, and Jose Abad Santos, all of Davao del Sur.ℒαwρhi৷
