DECLARING THE MONTH OF JULY 1992 AS THE CENTENARY OF THE EXILE TO DAPITAN OF OUR NATIONAL HERO, DR. JOSE RIZAL, IN CONSONANCE WITH THE DECADE OF FILIPINO NATIONALISM AND DESIGNATING THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL INSTITUTE (NHI) TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, July 17, 1992, marks the centenary of the exile to Dapitan of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal;
WHEREAS, Dr. Rizals exile to Dapitan gave him much freedom and opportunity to live as a model citizen and serve the people of Dapitan better by constructing the famous Linao Spring; putting-up a school for boys in Talisay; plotting the relief map of Mindanao at St. James Church in Dapitan; teaching the farmers and fishermen the modern method of farming and fishing and giving them medical assistance;
WHEREAS, it is imperative that the spirit of service and self sacrifice demonstrated by Dr. Jose Rizal to the people of Dapitan should always be remembered and emulated by the present and future generations;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of July 1992 as the CENTENARY OF DR. JOSE RIZALS EXILE TO DAPITAN in consonance with the decade of Filipino Nationalism and designate the NATIONAL HISTORICAL INSTITUTE and the ORDER OF THE KNIGHTS OF RIZAL to take charge of the following activities in coordination with the Executive Committee hereby created for the purpose:
1. Prepare the general program of the centenary and submit a copy of the same to the President of the Philippines for her information;
2. Conduct an International Assembly of the Knights of Rizal in Manila and Dapitan City;
3. Prepare a Mural on the arrival and stay of Rizal in Dapitan City;
4. Coordinate with the Bureau of Posts and the Central Bank of the Philippines relative to the issuance of a commemorative stamp and coin to symbolize the importance of the said event.
For the purpose of formulating plans and devising ways and means for the effective execution of appropriate activities and/or projects for the commemoration of the said event, there is hereby created an Executive Committee on the Centenary of Rizals Exile to Dapitan City to be composed of:

The Executive Committee is empowered to call on any department, bureau, office or agency of the government, including government owned or controlled corporations, for such assistance as it may need in the discharge of its functions relative in the centenary celebration.ℒαwρhi৷
