DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF NOVEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS “NATIONAL SCOUT CLEAN-UP WEEK”

WHEREAS, the Scout Oath and Law encourages the Scouts to help other people at all times and inculcates in them the spirit of concern for the proper upkeep and growth of their community as embodied in the Scout Law, “A Scout is Clean;”

WHEREAS, the Scout Slogan, “Do a Good Turn Daily, aims to inspire our Scouts to continue doing community service as part of their advancement and personal development even as this particular service is being done the whole year round;

WHEREAS, these values are relevant to our ardent quest for a progressive, peaceful and clean society, and therefore, must be strengthened;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the second week of November of every year as the “National Scout Clean-Up Week”.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, both young and old, to give their unstinted support to the Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines and be themselves the Scouts for a better Philippines.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
