[ Proclamation No. 1, July 2, 1992 ]

DECLARING 17 JULY 1992 AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF DAPITAN

WHEREAS, the month of July 1992 has been declared, through Proclamation No. 930 dated 25 June 1992, as the Centenary of the Exile to Dapitan of the National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, in consonance with the decade of Filipino nationalism;

WHEREAS, the 17th of July 1992 marks the centenary of the Exile to Dapitan of Dr. Jose Rizal;

WHEREAS, the spirit of service and self sacrifice demonstrated by Dr. Jose Rizal to the people of the City of Dapitan should always be remembered and emulated;

WHEREAS, the people of the City of Dapitan should be afforded full opportunity to commemorate the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the provisions of Section 27, Chapter 7, Book I of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, 17 July 1992, as a special day in the City of Dapitan.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
