ESTABLISHING AS SURIGAO WATERSHED FOREST RESERVE FOR PURPOSES OF PROTECTING, MAINTAINING AND IMPROVING ITS WATER YIELD AND PROVIDING RESTRAINING MECHANISM FOR INAPPROPRIATE FOREST EXPLOITATION AND DISRUPTIVE LAND-USE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF SISON, MALIMONO, SAN FRANCISCO, PROVINCE OF SURIGAO DEL NORTE AND IN SURIGAO CITY, ISLAND OF MINDANAO.

Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources and pursuant to Section 18 of Presidential Decree No. 705, otherwise known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, as amended, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby withdraw from entry, sale, disposition and settlement and set aside as Surigao Watershed Forest Reserve, subject to private rights, if any there be, and to the operation of previous proclamation reserving any portion thereof for specific purposes and to the implementation of socially-oriented projects and other forestry development programs consistent with the objective of the proclamation as may be determined by the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, a parcel of land of the public domain located in the Municipalities of Sison, Malimono, San Francisco, Province of Surigao del Norte, and in Surigao City, Island of Mindanao as shown and described in the Forest Management Bureau Map No. WR 76 with the following description:

Beginning at point “1” on the map, is a point identical to the junction of Parang-parang Guiso and Parang-parang Dacu Creek;

Thence S 21 deg. 00E, 1,600 meters to corner 2, identical to corner 69 A. and O. Proj. No. 43;

Thence S 55 deg. 00W, 3,450 meters to corner 3, a point on top of ridge;

Thence N 45 deg. 00W, 750 meters to corner 4, a point on top of ridge;

Thence N 12 deg. 00W, 1,400 meters to corner 5, a point on top of ridge;

Thence N 17 deg. 00E, 750 meters to corner 6, a point on top of ridge;

Thence N 19 deg. 00W 300 meters to corner 7, a point on top of ridge;

Thence N 56 deg. 00E 3,050 meters to corner 8, a point on top of ridge;

Thence S 21 deg. 00E 1,160 meters to corner 1, the point of beginning, containing an area of NINE HUNDRED SIXTY SEVEN (967) HECTARES.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources through its Forest Management Bureau shall administer and manage the reservation, in coordination with other agencies of the government, with the objective of maintaining its usefulness as a source of water for irrigation, domestic and other uses and to protect the area against indiscriminate forest exploitation and disruptive land-use which may cause serious damage to the watershed.ℒαwρhi৷
