DECLARING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 1990 AS DON CLARO M. RECTO DAY, A NON-WORKING SPECIAL DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS, BATANGAS CITY AND LIPA CITY

WHEREAS, Don Claro M. Recto was born on February 8, 1890;

WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 463 dated September 12, 1989, the year 1990 was declared as Claro M. Recto centennial year in consonance with the Decade on Filipino Nationalism;

WHEREAS, in Resolution No. 16 of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Batangas, February 8, 1990 was sought to be declared as a non-working holiday in the Province of Batangas, Batangas City and Lipa City, to enable the Batangueños to observe and commemorate with appropriate ceremonies and activities the 100th Birth Anniversary of Don Claro M. Recto;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby declare Thursday, February 8, 1990 as “Claro M. Recto Day” in the Province of Batangas, Batangas City and Lipa City.ℒαwρhi৷ The day shall be a non-working special day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
