[ Proclamation No. 258, May 6, 1988 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc., has for the last 37 years been deeply involved in the preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of mental illness;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc., has proven to be an effective partner-agency of the government from 1950, in the field of mental health, social services and rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc., needs the support of all civic spirited citizens to enable the organization to carry on with its laudable projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorized the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc., to conduct a national educational, membership and fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to give generously of their means in helping realize this humanitarian endeavor. All gifts, bequests, donations and/or contributions to the Association shall be governed by the provisions of P.D. No. 507, dated July 16, 1974.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
