DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 9–15, 1988, AS “COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY WEEK.”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Computer Society is a private association of information technology professionals from the top Philippine Corporations, whose primary mission is to contribute to the countrys economic and national development by supporting the manufacture and export of software, selected handware products, and promoting the use of information technology to increase domestic productivity;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Computer Society will hold its “PCS 88: BREAKTHROUGH,” which will feature the first international exhibition and conference on information technology on May 9 to 15, 1988, in the Philippines; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper to dedicate a period to focus attention on the vital role of computer technology in the development of the national economy;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from May 9 to 15, 1988, as “Computer Technology Week” under the auspices of the Philippines Computer Society.1aшphi1
