[ Proclamation No. 216, February 10, 1988 ]

REVOKING PROCLAMATION NO. 40 DATED OCTOBER 27, 1986, DECLARING THE THIRTY FIRST OF OCTOBER NINETEEN HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “EVELIO B. JAVIER DAY” AND A SPECIAL NON-WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR THE PROVINCE OF ANTIQUE AND ROXAS CITY THEREIN.

WHEREAS, February 11, 1988 has been declared as a Special Day in the province of Antique to give fullest opportunity to the people therein to commemorate the second death anniversary of the late Governor Evelio B. Javier, with fitting ceremonies;

WHEREAS, in view of said proclamation, there is need to revoke Proclamation No. 40 pursuant to Executive Order No. 203 which limits the number of holidays to be observed in this country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby revoke Proclamation No. 40 dated October 27, 1986 declaring the thirty-first of October nineteen hundred and eighty-six and every year thereafter as “Evelio B. Javier Day” and a special non-working public holiday for the Province of Antique and Roxas City therein.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
