DECLARING FEBRUARY, 1988 AS THE BUY PHILIPPINE-MADE PRODUCTS MONTH

WHEREAS, many Filipino producers and manufacturers make products that are of comparable quality, and which are priced competitively with, their imported counterparts;

WHEREAS, these producers and manufacturers generate jobs for Filipinos and conserve our foreign exchange;

WHEREAS, there is however, limited awareness of these quality Philippine-made products;

WHEREAS, there is furthermore a prejudice existing against things local;

WHEREAS, it is therefore necessary to increase the awareness of the public of things locally manufactured, give due recognition to entrepreneurs and companies that produce items Filipinos can be proud of, and motivate businessmen to strive for even greater excellence in the quality of their products;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare February, 1988 as the “Buy Philippine-Made Products Month”.

The Buy Philippine-Made Products Movement is hereby authorized to lead in the observance of the Buy Philippine-Made Products Month by conducting appropriate programs and activities.⌊aшΡhi⌊

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
