DECLARING MAY 16-22, 1987, AS “NATIONAL ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS WEEK”.

WHEREAS, telecommunications plays a vital role in the development and growth of the nations economy, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic and political development of the country;

WHEREAS, there is a need to solidify the gains realized under a truly democratic society through effective and efficient means of processing and transferring information to the greatest number of our people; and

WHEREAS, there is also a need to focus public attention to the significant role of telecommunications in the national development program of the New Government;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from May 16–22, 1987, as “National Electronics and Telecommunications Week”.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
