[ Proclamation No. 89, March 11, 1987 ]

AUTHORIZING THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN FROM MARCH 1 TO JULY 15, 1987

WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters of the Philippines, a non-partisan organization, was founded on July 15, 1937 as a result of the approval, in a Plebiscite held on April 30, 1937, of the grant of woman suffrage;

WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters of the Philippines needs funds for the celebration of its Golden Jubilee on July 15, 1987;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the League of Women Voters of the Philippines to conduct a nationwide fund raising campaign from March 1 to July 15, 1987. I urge everyone to give generously, consistent with their means, and support actively this campaign.
