DECLARING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1987 AS “LIBERATION OF MANDALUYONG DAY” IN MANDALUYONG, METRO MANILA.

WHEREAS, February 9, 1987, marks the 42nd Anniversary of the liberation of the Municipality of Mandaluyong by the Mandaluyong guerillas and the American Forces from the Japanese Imperial Army; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Mandaluyong desire to commemorate this historic event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, February 9, 1987, as “Liberation of Mandaluyong Day” in the Municipality of Mandaluyong, Metro Manila. The day, however, shall be a regular working and school day.
