[ Proclamation No. 169, October 12, 1987 ]

AUTHORIZING THE TULUNGAN SA TUBIGAN FOUNDATION, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.

WHEREAS, adequate potable water supply is a primordial need of Filipino households for their welfare and well-being;

WHEREAS, inadequate and unsafe water supply resulted in making water-borne diseases the primary cause of morbidity and secondary cause of mortality in the country today;

WHEREAS, government resources are at present inadequate to finance a complete water system that will meet the needs of all our people throughout the country; and

WHEREAS, in response to the need for adequate and potable water supply, a group of civic-minded and committed private citizens have organized the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc., to assist communities in implementing potable water projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc., to conduct a national educational and fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the issuance of this Proclamation.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, regardless of race, creed or nationality, to support actively and give generously of their time and resources to the cause of the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc.

All donations and contributions of private entities or persons to the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc., shall be exempt from income, gift, amusement and all other taxes, and the same shall further be deductible and shall not be included for the purpose of computing under Section 30, paragraph (h) of the National Internal Revenue Code, as amended.1aшphi1
