[ Proclamation No. 2386, October 22, 1984 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1, 1984 TO MAY 31, 1985 FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES.

WHEREAS, the Boy Scout of the Philippines in its program of character building and citizenship training among the youth has amply demonstrated during its more than 50 years of existence, that it merits the continued moral and financial support of the people;

WHEREAS, with its present membership of over two million boys and adult leaders all over the country, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines exerts a tremendous influence in the development of a responsible citizenry imbued with a deep sense of nationhood; and

WHEREAS, the yearly fund drive of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines will once again give our people the opportunity contribute to and insure the continuity of worthy cause;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby designate the period from June 1, 1984 to May 31, 1985, and the same period every year thereafter for the annual fund campaign of the Boy Scout of the Philippines.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines including government officials and employees to cooperate with assists in the fund campaign and to give it their unlimited support. I hereby authorize the exemption from all taxes, including the amusement tax, of all donations, contributions and collection from this campaign and the same shall constitute allowable deductions in full for income tax purposes of the donors.
