CALLING THE BATASANG PAMBANSA TO A SPECIAL SESSION ON MAY 28, 1984, TO CONSIDER PARLIAMENTARY BILL NO. 7056 WHICH FIXES THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE BATASANG PAMBANSA AT 218.

WHEREAS, there is pending in the Batasang Pambansa Parliamentary Bill No. 7056 which fixes the number of the said legislative body at 218;

WHEREAS, there is urgent need to consider the said bill in response to the desire of our people for adequate representation of the legislative branch of the government; and

WHEREAS, the Constitution and all the amendments thereto have consistently vested in the legislative assembly the power to fix the number of its members.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Batasang Pambansa to a special session for not more than fifteen (15) days beginning at five o’clock P.M. May 28, 1984, to consider Parliamentary Bill No. 7056 entitled An Act Fixing the Number of Members of the Batasang Pambansa at 218.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
