[ Proclamation No. 2354, April 26, 1984 ]

DECLARING THE MONTH OF MAY, 1984 AS NATURAL RESOURCES CONSCIOUSNESS MONTH IN THE ENTIRE ARCHIPELAGO.

WHEREAS, now more than ever before, the Filipino is faced with the challenge to take the initiative and rely on his own resources and ingenuity to ensure his social and economic well-being;

WHEREAS, the Philippines is bountifully endowed with natural resources, the proper harnessing of which shall enable the Filipino people to positively respond to the challenge of national development and progress, based on self-reliance;

WHEREAS, the wise utilization and conservation of natural resources is the ultimate concern of all citizens from all sectors of society, including all instrumentalities of Government;

WHEREAS, a sustained awareness of the issue of natural resources conservation and judicious utilization by all concerned is necessary to translate development plans into concrete programs and activities for the benefit parties of the grassroot populace in both rural and urban/areas;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of May, 1984 as Natural Resources Consciousness Month in the entire archipelago.1aшphi1

In view hereof, all agencies and instrumentalities of government are enjoined to contribute their share in the observance of Natural Resources Consciousness Month by way of holding exhibits and conducting information campaigns on how natural resources can be conserved and judiciously utilized.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
