PROCLAMATION NO. 2306

DECLARING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1983, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE

WHEREAS, September 13 is a memorable day for the people of Marinduque for it was on this day in the year 1900 when the Filipino Insurgents defeated the United States Army in the Battle of Pulang Lupa inspite of the American’s superiority in arms and strength.

WHEREAS, the people of the province of Marinduque should be afforded the opportunity to commemorate the heroism of their forefathers in the Battle of Pulang Lupa and celebrate the occasion with full appreciation of its importance in the history of their province.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, September 13, 1983 as a special non-working holiday in the province of Marinduque.⚖ - ℒαɯρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
