PROCLAMATION NO. 2295

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 23 TO 29, 1983, AS “CAGAYAN WEEK” AND FURTHER DECLARING WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29, 1983, AS NON-WORKING SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF CAGAYAN.

WHEREAS, the province of Cagayan commemorates the quadricentennial of the establishment of its civil government this year;

WHEREAS, the people of Cagayan should be afforded ample opportunity to mark this milestone in the province’s history with fitting ceremonies highlighting their glorious and colorful past; and

WHEREAS, the provincial government of Cagayan has designated June 23 to June 29, 1983, as the most appropriate time to celebrate such occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from June 23 to 29, 1983, as “Cagayan Week” and Wednesday, June 29, 1983 as a non-working special public holiday in the entire province of Cagayan, in observance of “Aggao Na Cagayan” (Cagayan Day).⚖ - ℒαɯρhi৷
