PROCLAMATION NO. 2256

RESETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TINOC IN THE PROVINCE OF IFUGAO.

WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 2171, April 15, 1982 was the date set for the holding of a plebiscite in the barangays of Ahin, Danggo, Tinoc Tucucan, Tulludan, Gumhang, Wangwang, and Binablayan, all in the Municipality of Hungduan, and the barangays of Bokiawan, Nunggulunan, Hapao and Loboong, all in the Municipality of Banaue, Province of Ifugao, to determine whether the said barangays shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Tinoc, in the Province of Ifugao;

WHEREAS, the plebiscite was not held on such date but was deferred for some cogent reasons;

WHEREAS, there is an imperative need to already hold said plebiscite and to set a new date therefor;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 184, do hereby reset from April 15, 1982 to January 28, 1983 the holding of a plebiscite in the Barangays of Ahin, Danggo, Tinoc Tucucan, Tulludan, Gumhang, Wangwang, and Binablayan, all in the Municipality of Hungduan, and the barangays of Bokiawan, Nunggulunan, Hapao and Loboong, all in the Municipality of Banaue, Province of Ifugao, to determine whether the said barangays shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Tinoc, Province of Ifugao.

The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations to implement this proclamation.⚖ - ℒαɯρhi৷
